Due in just over 3 weeks so want to get all his clothes, blankets, sheets, etc washed and ironed.

Thank you!

I washed it all on 40 as it was all clean, just wanted to soften them up for when she arrives. Think once they're dirty it'll have to be a hotter wash.

Does your washing machine have a baby clothes setting? Mine does, otherwise I'd have probably used a delicate wash

I'd suggest a wash with a decent rinse to get all the detergent out properly. So a 40c cottons...
I used to use a 15 minute speed wash as the clothes can be so slightly soiled/ you need to get them washed sharpish for the next round..
However a shorter cycle meant DSs skin was badly irritated we think vy the leftover detergent in the washing, and was one of the reasons (we are pretty sure) for starting his eczema.
And don't bother with conditioner. If you want really soft clothes without chemicals use the tumble drier balls with your drying. Makes everything including towels lovely and soft...
