Stretch Marks

Hi all. I've been using bio oil every day for the 2nd and 3rd trimester, but still have stretch marks under my bump.

From your experience, is it possible to go back to having a flat tummy after having stretch marks? I'm 40+5.

TYIA!

Lol I wish I knew ^^ Still have the marks and the floppy belly 6mths down the line. I used some lovely stretch mark cream but really only cos it smelt nice - none of them will prevent it happening

It's definitely possible in a human sense - I've seen celebs with flat tummies post baby! Whether it's possible for each individual is another matter.

My tummy wasn't flat to start with so unlikely for me Wink

My tummy went back to being flat - didn't get rid of the streatchmarks though, they have faded however in places. But i'm 12 weeks pregnant woth no2 and dd is only 18 months so didnt really give a lot of time for them to go.

I got 2 stretch marks in the final weeks of my first pregnancy, they disappeared within a few months after giving birth and my stomach went back to its pre-pregnancy flat-ish state. Now 8 months pregnant with second DC, still waiting for stretch marks to reappear and hoping belly disappears again this time round...

I think it's all genetic. I slathered on the bio oil first time and didn't get any stretch marks. Then found out that neither my mum nor my two sisters had used anything and they didn't have any either. This time I've used some cocoa butter cream when it's been a bit stretched and itchy, but otherwise nothing and it still looks the same.

In terms of body shape I went back to the same as before (including a slightly wobbly tummy) by about 8 months post birth. The last bit to return was actually my thighs which I didn't think had even got bigger during my pregnancy and which I didn't notice the change in until I tried on my work clothes when I back 6 months after the birth. Weird really because the trousers I had to buy at that point I was wearing between being about 3 and 4 months pregnant with dc2 and I was feeling quite big by then.
