Started mat leave on Fri (so was looking forward to getting lots done!) but have woken up this morning with the stiffest/most sore left thumb and wrist, can't bend my thumb, really hurts didn't realise I used it so much!

Wrists/fingers have been stiff for a few weeks and MW does think is probably CT but this is now painful and I know I couldn't for example open a jar.

I have to drive to another county today too and changing gear/doing handbrake is going to be sore. Is there anything I can do? Is hot water any good? TIA :)

CTS affects the little fingers, iirc, not the thumb. But there are other nerve-pinching conditions you can get.
Keeping the joint warm & fluid intake high, and circulation high (you get exercise) should help.

I've not had CTS from pregnancy but I had it as part of regular RSI.
