Sickness lack of appetite in third trimester

Hi Guys,

I'm sure this is perfectly normal what with baby pressing on everything and giving me good jabs in the ribs / side / fanjo whenever takes his fancy.

I am currently 31 weeks and the last week or so I just can't keep much food down, also have no appetite anyway and when I do eat just feel horribly full like i've overindulged a bit.

Had a yogurt and muesli this morning and some juice (about 9am) was sick and haven't had lunch as I feel full. Am drinking water / juice but still feel very sick.

Is this all normal? Assume as I said above it's just that little one is getting bigger and pressing against everything.

I would give your mw a call, particularly if you're actually being sick as they may want to keep an eye on you. I'm 35 weeks and have no appetite at all, but feel much more sick if I don't eat. DH reckons he can see when I need to eat from my skin colour now! Anyway, I've taken to eating high calorie, small volume stuff at certain points in the day (10.30 and 3) and that seems to have made a big difference.

Good luck

I have this, and I'm 36 weeks.
I find it's the sickness making me loose my appetite. I've been given anti sickness tablets which really help. You might actually find too that you can't eat much- I can't I have no room.
Give your midwife or GP a call. I know exactly how you feel, and I hope u feel better soon Smile

I'm 37 weeks & suffering with this too. There have been sickness bugs going round so my GP is unsure if it's that or pregnancy related. I'd see your GP as you may be able to get some anti-emetics which so help.
