I'm in my 17th week and we're telling PIL on Saturday.

I thought I would be more eager to share the news but I've really loved keeping it quite private while we can (which obviously isn't any longer 'cause people are offering me seats on the train!)

I told my mum within an hour of POAS each time, but I'm that close to her. We told brothers and sisters within a few days too. We're close with family so felt right they can share the time with us. We had two early miscarriages both at 9 weeks before DS, so once we reached the 10 wk point with DC 1, 2 and 3 and had had a scan we decided to tell everyone else Smile I just love sharing my good news. Some wait til the 2nd trimester, others wait longer. Think you have to decide what feels right for you.

I told loads of people! But we did think I was a month more pregnant than I actually was, so we already thought we were past the 'danger' point...

If it happens again, I would still tell my parents and 3 or 4 close friends. It really depends on what reaction you will get. I will tell the people I know I would like support from if anything happened.

End of 5th week, have told our parents, siblings, people we're really close with. My ethos is I tell people who would be there for me if the worst happened. Not people I won't see much who would ask awkward questions later down the line.

Mum, sisters and best friend on day of BFP. Everyone else after 13 weeks.

Faith my logic was the same as yours. Told close family at 5wks as I know I would need them if the worst happened.

mylittlemonkey · 30/08/2012 22:09

Told close family and close friends pretty much straight away but did not tell work or others unil nearly 17 weeks. This one followed 2 mmc so was waiting as long as possible to tell other by after a stranger causally asked me when I was due I knew could nt hinde it much longer.
