Elevated HCG levels

I'm six weeks pregnant and have just been called by my GP to say my HCG levels are high (20500) and am having a scan tomorrow. I'm 38 and have had flu symptoms all week. Quite worried it is ectopic. Any ideas?

I'm not pushy and I didn't think of asking for more follow up until I got home. I also went to the scan on my own so there was no one prompting or asking additional questions. I would like another blood test and I would like another scan and I will ask for them.

I'd totally agree with everybody else here - you need follow-up.

Be nice, but firm.
I find the broken record method works a treat:
'I am still concerned about my high levels and would like a further bloodtest/scan' on a loop Grin
