Question about sterilising

First-timer, so clueless...

I plan to breastfeed, but also express so DP can feed baby when I'm too tired as bonding time. So, I've got the expressing contraption and storage cups and bottles and a microwave steriliser. All good so far?

The question is - do I need to sterilise the above mentioned paraphernalia just before using, or is it OK to sterilise en-masse and store in the cupboard (cos surely the cupboard is a breeding ground for lurking germs and dust).

What do you guys do/suggest?

Just before using, well, within an hour or two anyway as it will need to cool down from the microwave before you'll want it near your boobs :) Once you break the seal ie open the sterilizer then according to the manufacturers all manner of germs are waiting to pounce. You'll get more relaxed about it when they are hitting 6 months and sticking all manner of detritus and floor sweepings in their mouths.
You'll also need a fiddly little bottle brush to make sure you clean out the expressing stuff properly, and the holes in the bottle teats [DD learned that the hard way :( ]
