Cramping at 18 weeks??

This is my second but can't really remember much about my first!!! I've been suffering quite sharp stabbing cramps occasionally and just wondering if this is normal? Theyre quite low down and more intense when i move suddenly or get up from sitting on the sofa. Also suffering with horrific bloating and trapped wind which is extremely uncomfortable.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like round ligament pain to me. I had it too, bloody painful but think it's normal stretchy pains. If you're worried though go get it checked out.

Yes I remember that from my first pregnancy too. Can't wait for it to start happening this time around...

Round ligament pain. Horrid, isn't it?

Embarazada · 30/08/2012 09:38

Oh, I'm getting those pains too, obviously assumed it was a very slow MC, but nothing's happened yet.
I'll ask my MW about round ligament pains.
Thanks.

For the bloating and trapped wind - I've had a horrible time with this since about 10 weeks. Once it gets going it's extremely painful. I have kept mine under control by eating live yoghurt at least once a day. I also take one probiotic capsule a day (Bio Kult). Flaxseed or extra fibrous foods (like dried fruit) won't hurt either. If I forget the yoghurt, I'm in for a couple of days of intestinal distress...
