dear mil,
At some point in the next three or four weeks yes, I will see a doctor/midwife. This will not make me any more pregnant than I already am. It will not rubber stamp the embryo in any way, nor will it double check the use-by date on my admitedly middle-aged ovaries. (which is what you're really thinking but are too delicate to say.) Now stop bloody nagging!

Dear DH we are not telling ANYONE until 12 weeks, yes this does include your beloved mother who probably already knows cos she is using the bloody apron strings like a tin can telephone from when we were kids!
