Head down but not engaged, so what are these pains about?

Hi all

Currently 34+4. Had MW appt this morning where she felt bump and said baby is definitely head down but not engaged yet (which is good/right for my weeks I think)

However, I've been getting these sharp, shooting pains for about 4-5 days, very low down in bump where I imagine cervix to be, like a hot poker type thing, not regularly but off and on, nothng's come of them but now I'm wondring what they are.

Thought it was to do with the head being down but I also have SPD, could it be that? Not overly worried but kicked myself for not menioning to MW (was just happy that baby isn't breech at the moment!)

It will almost definitely just be growing pains - lots of people get these at the beginning when the uterus is shifting out of the pelvis, and then again towards the end.
As long as all else is welland baby is moving normally they are no cause for concern

my DC2, though not engaged til the very end, used to grind her head against my cervix. she came out holding her head up and looking around, must have been all the neck exercise she got in there!
