I've got iCandy peach and I LOVE it! So easy to use. We liked that it can convert to a double if ever necessary Wink can't help with the Quinny though...

NotShortImFunSized · 28/08/2012 16:58

Have you been and tried them out somewhere first? I had a similar dilemma a few years ago (different pushchairs) When I finally got around to testing them one was so heavy I could barely push it, so easy to decide from then!

They both seem really nice tbh, no wonder you can't decide Grin

PipIsOutNow · 28/08/2012 18:21

Thanks both!!! I think I will go and test drive them both. I have a quinny buzz and love how easy it is to push but my lovely man is treating me to a new pram for this baby :) I always wanted an iCandy peach until I saw the new quinny and now I'm torn!!!

No contest, definitely Peach!

TribbleTuckandDismount · 28/08/2012 20:07

No contest, get a peach.

kaymondo · 28/08/2012 20:19

I've just had the peach blossom (the double version) and i love it!

milk · 28/08/2012 20:54

The Bugaboo Cameleon³ is out soon Wink

holler · 28/08/2012 20:56

We have the Peach and I love it.
Don't rely on it as a double - it's not great (we do have the older version though)

imustbepatient · 28/08/2012 22:39

Or look at the bugaboo donkey either as a mono or duo (can buy the duo kit to make it a double later if you need it). Love ours!

PipIsOutNow · 29/08/2012 09:59

The ones who say no contest defo a peach can I ask why?

I prefer the quinny mood personally, in terms of using it day to day, it steers well - especially over bumpy ground, folds with one hand, unfolds with your foot if needed!

It's suitable from birth and with the peach you have to get the carrycot I think?

holler · 29/08/2012 11:02

Yes, you have to buy a separate Peach carrycot (over £100, not sure exactly). You can use it for night time sleeping with a Moses basket mattress.

ItsMyLastOne · 29/08/2012 11:30

The Moodd is very wide, no sorry I mean ridiculously wide for a single pushchair. You'll most likely need to take wheels off to get it in a car boot, unless you have it sideways with no parcel shelf. The seat is very small too.

The Peach is much narrower. It does fold in two parts which is a negative point but the fold is small. It has a much better basket. The seat is really quite generous, especially when you remove the liner. The Peach does need a separate carrycot though, although I'd be emptied to try a wedge in it personally, like the one for the silver cross surf.

twizzlestix · 29/08/2012 11:33

I loved the peach after trying out many in the shop. I liked it because it was effortless to steer and the adjustable handle suited my DH who is much taller than I! Has suspension for slightly bumpy ground e.g. gravel and lockable front wheels for sand. It was easy to change from car seat on frame to carry cot to seat and due to way it folds (and fact with one button press the back wheels come off) it fitted in my very little car boot. Rather frivolously, I liked the colours too...

twizzlestix · 29/08/2012 11:35

If you use public transport lots the iCandy strawberry would be better as it's a little lighter and folds with seat still attached (have to take seat off then fold frame with the peach) DH said I should mention that both are a WHICH? best buy which is the reason he preferred it! Hmm

justine09x · 29/08/2012 13:16

Icandy all the way i had an apple with my last child and a Strawberry here waiting for my new little one due any day now, Quinny are just not as well made as Icandy, the peach folds quite compact and the new Peach has a larger seat unit so will last longer.

My advice would be is to go and have a demo as u will see for yourself, Also if u do go for a Peach get a deposit put down quickly as they have been having trouble with supplying the huge demand they have had this year although I think it's getting better.............also how far along are u? they are bringing new colours out the end of this year and they are lush ;)

PipIsOutNow · 29/08/2012 13:42

Oooh what new colours? I'm 18 weeks now do not due until January. I've just been to test drive the quinny moodd it's lovely. Going to see iCandy on the weekend. I like that the quinny newborn seat unit comes with a sleeping bag thingy, it lo

They got a Palma violet which is lilac and berry Bon Bon which is a red one x

ItsMyLastOne · 29/08/2012 14:37

They have Black Magic (just black) and Silver Mint (basically like silver) which are both out now. Parma Violet (very pale purple and not quite so pale purple) and Berry Bon Bon (kind of charcoal grey and hot pink) are due out soon.

The Peach 2 (which all of those colours are) has the same size main seat but the second seat is bigger, has a better seating position and the extender arms are longer so there's more space for the child at the back.

Whatever you go for, ask for a package deal with the accessories, especially if you're buying a car seat and/or carrycot too. Retailers make an absolute fortune on icandys so they have a bit of room for negotiation.

ItsMyLastOne · 29/08/2012 14:41

Oh and, I know this is for further down the line, but of you buy a Peach and there's even a small possibility you'll be converting it to a double in the future, then you need to register the warranty as a Peach Blossom rather than just a Peach. For some reason some genius at iCandy has made it so you can't change your warranty once you buy a second seat, or add the blossom kit to your existing warranty. It's caused a few people some difficulty so just wanted to mention it.

holler · 29/08/2012 16:27

Beware of assuming it's cheap to convert to a double. We asked in John Lewis and were told 'Oh, it's about £80, you just need some converter bars'. As DC1 wasn't even born at this point, we didn't think to research/question further. Now pg with DC2, turns out it's nearer £400 (to get the Blossom carrycot as well). Completely our fault for not checking it out, but v annoying. The v1 double isn't great either - we struggled to get the doll in the lower unit on display, never mind wrestling a real baby in.
Instead, we bought a BCJM double for about £300 brand new, and the Peach is currently going on eBay for more than this! So am slightly less annoyed.

ItsMyLastOne · 30/08/2012 10:02

Good point holler, if you buy the new blossom carrycot you can then use it again if/when you have a second child as it fits at the top or bottom. The blossom kit is then an extra £190 + £40 for a liner + £85 for a footmuff. It does add up doesn't it!

The rrp list is here, scroll past Peach to Peach 2 for the new model.

It also says Berry Bon Bon is in store now, but Black Magic is out of stock again.

milk · 30/08/2012 13:28

I'd get the Peach as it weighs 8.9kg whereas the Quinny weighs 15.1kg.
