Anythings possible with periods whilst breastfeeding. The amount I feed does usually affect the length of my cycle, although I do always have a period at the end of it.
Do you think you there is a chance you could be pregnant? If so, just do a test. It'll prob be neg and then you can stop worrying.
I am currently trying ttc dc2 and have been tracking my cycles, charting etc and doing opk's. Even if you aren't ttc I would recommend it to anyone bf and trying to understand what on earth is going on with their cycles! It does help with all the confusion!
Good luck Smile

Thank you for reply. Yes I could be pregnant, in that we have had unprotected sex (bloody holiday). I bought a test on the way to work, I will POAS later.

Yes- i think that is correct. My periods started when DD was down to AM/PM feeds only and didnt return to normal until I completely stopped feeding.

I was in blissful daft delight that my new post childbirth periods were painfree and light. Then it changed, so did many things when I totally stopped the feeding!.

Good luck

Well stupidly I have tested, I have done enough pg tests in my time to know weak lunchtime wee is pointless for these purposes. Appears negative but there appears to my eye to be a second line v v faint. It may exist only in my fevered imagination. Will have to spaff another six quid and test in the morning.

Bugger.

Fingers crossed for you either way but the exact same thing has happened to a friend who has a 7mo and is now 12 wks. She's thrilled and shocked. Thought bf meant all was fine! Will be going back to work for a month before her next mat form goes in again.

Clarella · 28/08/2012 14:04

Hmm Confused sorry, not sure that helps.

LookAtHerGo · 28/08/2012 14:07

How are you feeling about it?

I happen to be diffed even though bf, and at the time I bf regularly. whispers in case you don't wish to know, it's twins too, am thrilled I've got 4 months to work before going on maternity leave again. BlushGrin

Hope you get the result you want. A friend of mine (a breastfeeder) had one period post birth and is now 16w pregnant and has an 8m old. She was a bit shocked at first but is thrilled now.

LookAtHerGo · 28/08/2012 14:48

I'm very thrilled though Grin and we never wanted a big gap between the 'two' and we're now having three. We didn't use contraception though at all.

Lagartijadoesthecrazyshake · 28/08/2012 14:52

Good luck for the next test, hope you get the result you want. I'm still bfing DD at 15mo and have had a couple of 50 odd day cycles for no apparnt reason.

DeathMetalMum · 28/08/2012 15:15

Mine didnt they cam eback at 14 months I had two and then got pg again they were much lighter than before however it was the plan to have two close together. Hope you get the result you want.

TheTermagantToaster · 28/08/2012 18:32

I got pregnant three or four months after my periods returned (when DS was around 15 months). He has always been - and continues to be - a monster bf'er.

And just so you know, I got pregnant the ONLY occasion we had sexay time. On holiday - bloody holidays! Thank fuck it's not twins though, I would have spontaneously combusted :o
