I'm 30 weeks this week. Had an ear infection a year ago and feels like I have another one... Have had pus coming out my ear for a few days (sorry TMI) but no pain, just itchiness and ringing. Feels like its swollen now though and starting to become painful :(

Going to try and book a doctors appt in the morning but wasn't sure if I'd be able to take antibiotics or anyone had this?

If it's a bacterial infection then they'll be able to give you antibiotics.

You can take paracetamol for any pain.

Hope you feel better soon. Earache is the absolute pits.

Sympathy to you. I had the same at 32 weeks - you can take antibiotics orally and also use ear drops. The worst thing for me was only being able to take paracetamol for the pain. A hot water bottle on the side with the ache helped me quite a bit, as did warmed olive oil dribbled into my ear ( heat a teaspoon in hot water, then put some olive oil on spopn, let it warm for a minute and then put it in yout ear) - though olive oil may not work if you've got pus coming out, and you should get GP to check that your eardrum isn't burst before.you put anything in your ear.

Thanks guys. I've been given ear drops and antibiotics because its so swollen she can't tell where the infection is!!! Going back next week so she can check its cleared up.

Hoping for a better nights sleep tonight...
