Anyone else suffering?

With DD1 it was down the middle of my back and onto the small of my back. Turned out she was back-to-back, hence the pain apparently.

This time, it's kind of 'behind' my left shoulder blade and towards the middle.

I wake up with it but it's so bad by the evening I'm close to tears.

Last time I was referred to a physio who couldn't really do much apart from tell me what I already knew (due to pregnancy softening the ligaments supporting the bones etc and that it would go after baby born).

It's so depressing to think it's only going to feel worse as the weeks go on.
Aargh!!

Anyone got any suggestions how to cope/what can help?

I had terrible back pain first time round - this time it's much better. The differences are:

Pilates - I've been doing it regularly since slipping a disc last year - I was at classes but now I'm further along I'm using Pilates for Pregnancy by Lynne Robinson. I've had the pain you describe (or similar) but a session of Pilates has lessened it or sorted it completely.

A new mattress. It's made an amazing difference but I appreciate it's quite an expensive solution! Is your mattress a firm one? If you and your partner are under 16 stone it should be a medium. You're meant to sink into it a bit (shoulders / hips) to keep your spine straight...

Get a tens machine, they are not only useful during labour. I started using mine at around thirty four weeks and it was blissful.
