I think the antenatal class I went to gave me a list. I ended up being in mat. unit for 3 days following EMCS.

As I recall I had some/all of the following:
Carton drinks (orange, apple)
Snacks (cereal bars, dried fruit, crisps!)
Nightdress
Big knickers
Maternity towels
Maternity bra
Breast pads (Lansinoh)
Clothes to go home in/lounge about in (I didn't do the latter)
Magazine
Battery-operated radio
Mobile phone
Hand cream
Face cream
Toothbrush, toothpaste
Shower gel, sponge, towel

Outfit for baby to go home in - including scratch mitts

I'm sure that friends/family will happily step in and bring anything you're in desperate need of.

Take lots of maternity towels and big knickers. With my first I only toke one pack as I was very naive and used them all within half an hour !!.

I've had 5 dc and it wasn't until my last that someone gave me what I think is THE best advice ever!!

Instead of using big bulky sanitary towels, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time for post birth blood loss, buy an extra pack of newborn nappys, open one right up and put it in your knickers Grin

They're so much more absorbent and don't leak as much as I found pads to.

Good luck with everything and congrats! Smile
