The 'burst of energy' for a few days before giving birth - what does it feel like?

Baby's dropped, and the waiting game is really boring lol. So... everyone remarks on the burst of energy that comes before baby - how MUCH energy, what am I looking out for? Would feeling 'normal' rather than 'so tired even walking to the bathroom feels like effort' qualify? Or will I actually be full of life and doing things???

In early labour I felt like going for a run. Trust me, that's out of character even when I'm not pregnant.
In the days running up to it I'd say I felt purposeful, but still ran out of energy before I'd got the things I wanted done.

No idea. Both mine engaged heads fully at 32 weeks and then just sat there for another two months. You have no idea how many pelvic floor exercises I have to do.

For me it was wanting to clean the fridge ! Both my ds came after a busy day when i was tired.

I craved the smell of cleaning stuff...Jif, Citit bang, bleach, stardrops... the lot. I could spot a smudge at 100 paces and my kitchen looked like a show house kitchen.

Shame it's never happened again.

I made plans to go out when perhaps weeks before I really couldn't be bothered. The day I went into about with dd I had booked to get my hair coloured and was planning a trip into town. Didn't make it though for obvious reasons. I describe it as itchy feet.

Never happened for me I'm afraid, but I'd only just finished working full time and was shattered.

Nope, for me nesting lasted a MONTH. Was still a fortnight overdue.

Like pigeon - got totally obsessed with cleaning for about a month before baby was born - but he was 9 days over! Got particularly upset about some fruit flies that appeared at one point, kind of irrationally (I'm not bringing a baby into this house!!!)
