Maternity Leggings

I am 11 weeks and have noticed my clothes are getting uncomfortable. I want to buy a couple of pairs of maternity leggings and would be grateful for some recommendations. I would rather pay a little more for good quality and comfort and durability. Would quite like them to see me through most of my pregnancy. I am a large bottomed girl and will be buying in a size 16 so would prefer them to not go see through. Can anyone recommend some good quality over the bump comfy leggings please?

Thanks in advance.

I got mine from mothercare and they are so soft and comfortable I live in them. They are over the bump ones and have lots of stretch in them think they cost about £14 and do not go see through xxx

milkyjo · 25/08/2012 13:49

I am wearing my dotty p ones right now at only 11 weeks and although very comfortable they are baggy from my previous pregnancy and have gone slightly see through. They were good for one pregnancy but I wouldn't recommend them as they don't last, however, ok for slobbing around the house on a bank holiday weekend.

BikeRunSki · 25/08/2012 13:52

I had some from H&M last year. They were nice sturdy fabric, very comfy and had a generous bump panel.

Emmiedarling · 25/08/2012 13:52

I'm 34 weeks and I've tried many of the brands on offer. I have to say that my Mama's and Papa's ones are the best by far. (And i am the most paranoid person about them being see through!!!)

allchik · 25/08/2012 14:03

I wear my HnM ones every day,Im a size 16 on my bum too!7.99 and good quality x x

flipflopper · 25/08/2012 14:05

I have some nice ones from Next and Mothercare. The ones I got from Dotty P are really thin and go see through, and they have 2 holes in already, so I would avoid going there!

IceCubes · 25/08/2012 14:07

For my twin pregnancy I had some black Next leggings that saw me all the way (and I got BIG) no see through bottom issues at all!

DolomitesDonkey · 25/08/2012 14:16

I bought some soft but not see-through over the bump ones from boden. They came up fucking enormous and even at term I had to hold them up.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 25/08/2012 14:39

I brought a pair from peacocks and within 2 weeks the stitch all came un done so dont get from there!!

I went on the hunt for some yesterday, went into next and they gave me a £10 off £15 spend with a first order so i have just ordered a denim effect pair and some black over the bump ones for £20.

Hopefully they will be alright im not sure how next sizes come up!

amybelle1990 · 25/08/2012 14:55

Dorothy Perkins ones were vvvvv soft and have lasted me throughout the pregnancy (touch wood) :D

Apparently GAP and M&S are good too

soandsosmum · 25/08/2012 15:03

Isobella oliver ones are lovely but pricey
I've got a pair plus some from h&m
Both good bump panel but IO just the most gorgeous material

ItsMyLastOne · 25/08/2012 15:04

I have the H&M ones. They're soft enough and comfy but they're see through enough that I have to have my bum fully covered by my top when I wear them.

I had M&S ones las time and they were crap in every way - terrible fit, see through, went baggy quickly...

I wish I'd just bought some proper expensive ones this time so I wouldn't need to worry about people being able to see everything through them!

Birdsgottafly · 25/08/2012 15:24

Could anyone tell me if you order the size that you was pre pregnancy and what are the sizes like, small/true sizing, on the Mama's and Papa's?.

These are going to be a present, thanks.

amybelle1990 · 25/08/2012 16:19

birdsgottafly I got a size up just to make sure there was a bit of give, but tbh I didn't need to- they are still comfy though

steben · 25/08/2012 16:46

I got mine from boden great quality and over the bump too which is a must for me! Agree with other poster though that the sizes are very generous so go a size below what you would normally wear

Badgerina · 25/08/2012 17:13

H&M are brilliant. They're cheap but really good quality and mine still fit me at 36 weeks. I was surprised to be honest, but I've bought two pairs and they've been great.

Birdsgottafly · 25/08/2012 18:50

Thanks, she won't let me buy things, even though she has very little money, , misplaced pride, so i'm getting them as a gift.

Emmiedarling · 25/08/2012 19:19

I got a size 8 which fits perfectly (I was an 8 before pregnancy and have gained 3 stone!!!)

Maclairey · 25/08/2012 19:34

Thanks very much for all your suggestions, will order some tomorrow. Desperate for something comfy to wear! Just need to find some nice tunics that cover my bum (and bump!) now!

I got George ones in a 10 and the bump bit was way too big when I bought them at 20 weeks and they are still way too big now at 38 weeks. I tried H&M ones in the changing room and had the same problem, way too big, gave me backache trying to stick my tummy out to keep them up. I've stuck with normal ones instead, of the same brands, which fit fine (though my M&S ones are a little diggy)

kidcrayola · 25/08/2012 21:33

Just bought some cheap ones from Matalan, fabric is nice, hate leggings that are too thin though they aren't hugely roomy so won't last me full term.
Also bought a pair of ponte leggings from Topshop that are really thick almost like trousers and i really love them, really roomy as well so I think they'll last well.

Thechick · 25/08/2012 21:43

I'm still wearing non maternity leggings and they are completely fine. I'm 28 weeks with a big bump and I have put on weight all over but these have been completely fine. I bought one size up in m&s and h&m and I can't complain at all.

MrsReiver · 25/08/2012 22:22

birds what a lovely friend you are Smile I'm sure she'll love the gift.

LolaAnn · 26/08/2012 01:57

The topshop ones are really fab too. Have lasted me one and a half pregnancies so far!
