I have been on the pill (femodette) for 10 years and have had regular eroids every 28 days. My last period was on 24th July. During my last pack of pills, I missed 2 consecutive pills quite early on and have been having unprotected sex with my husband. About 2 weeks ago, I got really really sore breasts, stomach cramps, became very tired and felt sick. My sleep became disturbed and it might sound silly but I felt pregnant. Two days before my period was due I felt normal again and everything disappeared apart from the stomach cramps, which I just put down to my period being on its way. The next day I had some spotting. It was brown and there wasn't much of it - definitely not enough to be my period and it was brown! This continued the next day and a tiny bit the day after. Then yesterday I had nothing. Every pregnancy test I have done has come up negative. I am still having stomach cramps and feel bloated. I don't feel pregnant any more. My dilemma is that today I am supposed to start taking my pill again. What should I do? I have been to see my doctor who said to take another test in 1 - 22 weeks, but I forgot to ask about my pill. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

Don't take it and use condoms as protection until the week has passed then test again. Did you use morning wee? Clear lie digitals are good for seeing it in black and white.

I would start the new pack. If you did turn out to be pregnant its unlikely to be harmful, if you stop taking it you may end up pregnant if you aren't already.

But I would see about another test, I honesty felt my period was starting but I was pregnant, I had even taken nurofen for cramps I thought was period pain but no bleeding appeared and I was upduffed.

Thank you for helping. Yeah I used my first wee of the day. I took a clear blue digital test on the day that my period was due and it said not pregnant. If I don't take my pill today and I wait a week, when will I start taking it again? Will I have to wait a month? Thank you for your help :)

That seems like a good idea. Thank you. If I am pregnant then I am due 30th April and conceived 7th August. Surely the HGC levels would be high enough now to give a positive test??

I think if you weren't pregnant you would need to wait for a proper period and start on the first day. It seems weird that the blood was brown. Periods on the pill aren't true periods, just withdrawal bleeding so if not pregnant should occur. It's highly possible that you are pregnant I guess as you really have no idea when you would have ovulated. I think I would wait to re-start and use condoms in the meantime and re test on a week or so as the doc said.

Thank you. I had read that the bleeding could have been implantation bleeding. It certainly wasn't like my usual period. I have also had a lot of acid lately and have eaten lots of rennies. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. I am just so confused!!! If I am pregnant then why am I getting negative results/if I'm not pregnant then why did I bleed like that????? Arghhh!!! I will be happy with either result - I just would like to know what is going on. :/

Not sure what is best re pill but I'd test again with a non-digital test tomorrow morning. Sometimes a digital test won't pick up enough lower levels of hormones to give a positive result but you might get a faint line on a normal, non-digital test. Good luck, I hope you get the result that you want!

Thank you :) I will keep testing. x
