Is it safe to use hair removal cream when pregnant

Thats about it really. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with DC2 & was wondering of it was safe to use the cream. I always used to epilate, but before the pregnancy I started using the cream which was really effective & much less painful. There is nothing on the bottle to advise against it, & the midwife seemed to think it was ok, although Dr said not to, to be on the safe side.
I was just wondering if any mums out there have used it during pregnancy?

I'd read somewhere that the chemicals in it can be harmful so I've avoided it. Hence out of control bush. But can't see it any longer so don't care too much.
