I can be, but don't like to. I've just been trawling the internet looking for an address for a supervisor of midwives address so I can bypass my terrified-of-homebirth GP. The patronising, authoritarian, fucking unacceptable language on the websites for the GP practice, both nearby general hospitals and the MLU is a depressing reminder of the road ahead:( I'm really hoping my favourite midwife is still on the local community team, but I expect she's retired by now:(

Not sure what your GP's opinion on homebirth would matter? Just tell your midwife at any of your appointments before 32 weeks and as long as you are low risk no complications etc I don't think they can refuse?

I'm not low risk on a number of counts and they can't refuse anyway:)
I'm depressed at what lies ahead really.
