Is it common to have glucose in urine during pregnancy?

Had midwife apt today (29+2) and there was 2+ glucose in my urine.

I've had a disrupted few days and have eaten quite a few sugary things. Yesterday I had 3 cupcakes at an event where I couldn't any of the food/canapés going around (they were all things with Brie/chilled meats etc) and then didn't get to eat properly til late at night. And i also had a mars bar and 2 glasses of full fat coke. Then today, there was no food in the house (just returned after a few days away) so before I went to see the midwife I had eaten 2 big bowls of crunchy nut cornflakes and a bowl of weetabix covered in sugar.

Could this have cause glucose to be in my urine? I don't normally eat this unhealthily by the way!

I had glucose in my urine 2+ in my first and third pregnancy. First time, I was told it was due to the massive bowl of frosted shreddies before my appointment. In my third pregnancy, they said it was probably due to the punnet of grapes I had the night before. Both times when retested a few hours later everything was normal again.

Was your midwide worried at all?

Single measurement? It may well settle. If they are not intervening, then it's not one to worry about yet (it can hop about a bit). It will be noted, though. When is your next appointment?

No midwife didn't seem concerned. She asked me what I'd eaten and said we'll just check it again in 2 weeks and if it's still showing glucose then she'll ask for a glucose tolerance test to be done.

Hopefully it was the sugary cereal!
