Maternity Clothes of the In-Expensive Kind!!!

Please Please Please can somebody recommend somewhere i can get maternity clothes for cheap because we just dont have the money to fork out loads and all my ones from dd (had 2 tops and 1 skirt) are worn through!!!!

H&M best for High St maternity clothes, IMO and pretty inexpensive.

for skirts you could probably get away with gypsy type skirts with elasticated waists

get yourself to H&M IMMEDIATELY. I got great dresses and skirts etc for about £8 each (in fact one dress was £4 in the sale - fantastic!)

oh thank you, have a h & m nearby will go have a look, thats brill, was looking in mothercare and it was all just SOOOOOO expensive i gave it a miss!!!

ebay - unless you're a size 10, 'cos I'm watching all those ! Or NCT sales are worth a look.

my H&M is full of big ugly stuff, so no joy there. Although I do have a couple of shirts & a pair of bootleg leggings which are still good.

How pregnant are you ?

not very yet, only 6 weeks but with money tight i wanna be able to spread the cost out!

never even thought of ebay what a prune!!!

Asda do a good range of maternity clothes. I've had a few bits. Really comfy trousers, a bit like trackie bottoms but smarter, iykwim, £4. Bargain!! I've got two pairs!! I've also bought lots of their ordinary tops, just in a bigger size.

i did that with dd mostly but found that the waistbands cuts even tho the rest was big enough iyswim as they werent the right shape!

my asda doesn't do maternity clothes anymore Sad

if you are just 6 weeks, you probably won't need anything for another 8-10 weeks ? then hopefully weather will be warmer & you can get away with elastic bias cut skirts ? That's how I managed from about May when I was about 25 weeks. Fingers crossed I can do it this time !

Do you have a Next outlet store anywhere near you? (the ones that sell end of range, seconds, returns etc).
We went to Clarkes Village at Street when I was pregnant with DS and I got 2 pairs jeans, 1 pair cropped trousers, 3 tops for around £40.

didnt bother with maternity stuff just bought bigger sizes of combats gypsy skirts and stuff like that went to mark one, new look and cheap places like that

dont have an outlet, will look in catolouge if ebay doesnt turn anything up, have some good ones coming up tomo, hopefully il win! (i hate being beaten on ebay!!!)

have to add i was having to buy size 24 tops! wore bottoms under my bump but still had to get them in the larger ladies section!

i have never managed to find clothes bigger than a size 14 (which seems more like an 8 to me) in those shops, but i probably dont look properly!! am only a size 12/14/16 depending where its from but find it hard to get clothes in those shops.

where i live they are all pretty large stores but i think most of them these days have seperate sections with bigger stuff in i preferred it as i didnt like the maternity stuff with over the bump trousers etc and jersey stretchy panels! yuck!! i was nomally a 12 and went up to about a 16 in bottoms but i bought huge tops that my bump would fit under and the clothes were so much nicer than the frumpy mothercare offerings!

i myself (being fashion victim of only 16 when pg with dd) didnt like maternity clothes and mainly wore bigger clothes (which felt rather uncomfortable to me as i was huge) but now (having been a mother for 18 months and worn clothes with babyspit/sick/snot all over them) i dont care what they look like as long as they are comfortable and i can still roll around the floor with dd, if a little slower than normal!!!

thank you, all these ideas have been wonderful, i dont know why (other than being pg) my brain will not work properly for simple tasks like finding clothes!!!!

yes and try H&M big and beautiful range as well as the maternity section
they are cut very generously
