We are goong away when I will be about 13 weeks. I am currently 10 weeks and alredy growing out of my clothes, mainly due to the style but a lot of my jeans no longer fit, and have worn some maternity tops from my last pg the last few days and felt much better.

We are going to be spendig plenty of time on the beach or in the on site swimmig pool if the weather doesnt permit. I doubt my current swimsuit will fit it also has a tummy controll area and im sure that isnt a good thing to wear while pg.

Wondering at what stage pthers started wearing maternity swimsuits. I have thought about a tankini insteas but they are pretty expensive I dont swim a great deal so seams a waste. I have found a swimsuit for £9.99 (maternity) on spirts direct but im worried it will be really baggy in the wrong areas. Help!

13 weeks you probably won't be big enough for a maternity swimming costume. Bikini or tankini would be best, if you feel self conscious rub your tummy in an 'I'm pregnant' way! Lots of shops let you mix and match tops and bottoms, try the high street.

I agree with threewheels it's probably a bit early for a maternity cozzie - I'd go for a cheap normal swimming costume or tankini. Have you tried somewhere like Primark?

I went to Greece when I was 6 months pregnant. I wore a bikini - I think I'd have gotten too hot if I had a full swimsuit on. Nice to show off your developing bump Smile

Hi - I am 19 weeks and have also struggled with swimwear! When I found my bikini no longer comfortable to wear, I ordered a couple of maternity tankinis in the Next sale online. Was shocked when they arrived as they are huge, plus just seem really ungainly (and although they are tankinis as such, they actually have the top and bottom bits joined together by a lining fabric). They fit, and will hopefully see me through to the last weeks, but feel a bit 'structured' and heavy!

I also have an ordinary tankini that I bought in Primark and while that is a size larger, it is starting to get a bit tight. It has been good though for that inbetween time where you don't have a proper bump but are finding your normal swimwear a bit restrictive.

For now, I would see if you can find an ordinary tankini in a larger size - I think Primark have some in their swimwear sale still?

Good luck and enjoy your holiday

I got a lovely one-piece from figleaves before my holiday last year when I was 20 weeks pregnant. I've had loads of wear from it since I swim a lot. The great thing is that it's not baggy around a non-pregnant tummy so I've been able to wear it since.

It was £35 - which is probably more than you want to pay - but it's value for money if you can still wear it afterwards.

I wore my ordinary tummy-control M&S swimsuit until about 12 or 13 weeks and got a Next fake-tankini (as described by eagleray ) at about 18 weeks, which is still doing the trick for me now at 33 weeks. I think it would have been far too big at 13 weeks though.

My maternity swimming costume was only necessary after about 24 weeks, it had masses of space for the bump (matalan fake-tankini style) If your old one is still snug either buy a cheapo supermarket one in a size up or go for bikini instead

Thanks everyone, I decided to try my swinsuit on and I can just about squeeze into it, I'm wondering if having tummy controll is a bad thing or not?

Think a trip to primark is in order though! Oh I certainly could not put people through seeing me in a bikini. This is my 2nd pregnancy in two years and my tummy wasnt too great before the first one. Thank you!

Still wearing bikini here at 37 weeks. Fits fine and was nice & cheap from matalan lol!

I went to Spain at 20 weeks and wore a bikini. Lots of other preg people at the beach were in bikinis too.
There's something about being abroad that makes me not care!

But going swimming at the pool here I wouldnt wear a bikini. I bought a mat tankini from mamas and papas. It was £30 but v pretty and not too big so hoping to wear it post preg too.

I'm 27 weeks now but I only bought it at 24 weeks, wouldn't have needed it before then.
