Hello.

Am 24 weeks plus 3 days preg with DC3. had a growth scan today as doctors say I need them every 4 weeks due to thyroid issues.
At my scan today my baby's abdomen measured big so I'm having a gestational diabetes test in 2 weeks. On getting home I noticed that my baby's femur length was measuring as shorter than average too. Amin a panic now. It's not extremely short. I guess they'd have said if it was. But it's below average and I know that can be a marker for sone foetal abnormalities. Also, my nuchal gold measurement was 3.7. They told me it was ok but have looked online (bad idea) and now I think it's too thick. Am working myself right up into a panic. Cant sleep at alll. So worried. Has anybody any advice or expertise?

Hello - sorry, I don't have any advice or expertise but wanted to reply in case you are still awake worrying and on your own... Did a midwife/sonographer mention the arm measurement? Definitely make a midwife appointment tomorrow and talk it through. It might not be anything to be overly concerned about. Afraid I don't know anything about nuchal fold measurements either but looking at things online is often a bad idea.... (I always do it though, obviously...) I'd have thought if they are focusing on gestational diabetes, that's their main concern - therefore maybe there's no need to be worried about the other measurements. If it was a marker of anything serious, I think they would have mentioned it - at least in so much as to say they'd like to book you in for another scan/midwife appointment about it. Hope you get some sleep and all's well.

Right then, Dr Google is never your friend. That's why we have real life doctors. Stop worrying! Stop!

Make another appointment with doctor or midwife and talk it through but in the meantime if there was anything to worry about your Dr would have flagged it.

FWIW my baby showed a massive head and huge long legs. She was born looking totally normal Wink although I was convinced she'd be some giant bobble head...
