Could it have been a positive test but my wee flooded it?

Hello, I am almost 100% sure I am pregnant, a few days overdue and normally run like clockwork. For a couple of days around the day I was due, I have some stringy brownish blood when I wiped, sort of snotty (sorry I know its disgusting). Then nothing, I feel like I am about to get my period, very bloated etc.

Bought a cheapy test from Wilkonsons (one in a pack- kicking myself the cheapskate!!!) wee'd on the stick and went all over the window. I am so rubbish at doing tests. Instructions said not to wee on the windows which I totally did. The pink ink was in both windows, at one point the pregnancy window nearest the wee end was all pink and then slowly slowly it all faded to a pinkish all over colour and then white. The test said something like any pink dye in that window means you are pregnant as its the HCG that makes it change. But I pulled it out of the bin a little while later and the window was clearly white.

So what do you think? I know many will say, test again and I plan on getting another tomorrow. Do you think it was positive?

Can you be pregnant with the same churning feeling you get before a period?

Wish I bought a more reliable double pack and I dipped!!!

Superdrug own brand are some of the best.

usually it goes pink over both windows as the wee goes up the strip and then disappears to leave either nothing or a line, so that sounds normal.

Symptom spotting is so hard, it is always 50/50 preggo symptoms or AF so try not to think about it.

Hi there just seen this post n had to comment, I don't want to give you potentially false hope tho....the exact same thing happened to me and I mean exact! Was a wilko home brand test n didn't really think I was so went there to get one as I know they r loads cheaper...weed all over the bloody thing and assumed it was negative which was what I thought anyway was just doing it to stop my mate nagging!
That was about 30 weeks ago....I'm now 35 weeks pregnant, bought a clear blue one n weed in a cup albeit approx a week later as I didn't think I was anyway n went straight to positive, def try weeing in a cup n dipping it rather than trying to do it the traditional way- its so awkward!!!!!
Good luck tomorrow n hope u get the result u want :) x

Usually tests tell you to read them within 5 minutes. Anything after that should be disregarded. So if it looked positive and is now looking negative, I would still think it more likely you are pregnant.

interesting - thank you. we'll see.

i've done many tests and i know it does move up as the wee goes but this was slightly different as the window was all pink. It would be interesting to ask if other Wilko users experienced the same thing with a neg test.

Hi secrethistory, I haven't used the wilco test but have weed on many a test window accidentally, and I must say usually the test window does go all pink (or blue, or whatever) as, instead of the dye slowly moving up it, it all sets loose at once. So i don't think you can read much into that first test. If you're trying to conceive and are a test obsessive like me, order a load of cheapo dip sticks off amazon (they're the same as what your doctor would use) and keep a supply and you can test to your heart's content.

I'm pregnant at the moment and the one time this time that I flooded a window, when it "cleared" there was a definite pink line so on that occasion, for that test (Superdrug I think) flooding didn't spoil the result. But all tests vary!

I recommend peeonastick.com - it isn't updated any more I don't think but has LOADS of useful info about pregnancy testing, and photos of positive and negative tests. It was run by an American lady so the named brands don't match up but the general info is a useful read.
