Prodding & stretching but not kicks-is this reduced movements?

Not sure whether to ring MW or not as at 29wks movements have changed. They feel like stretching but not proper kicks. Have previously felt pretty strong kicks but now feels a bit sluggish and also not at the usual times I used to get them. Is this something to worry about? Is it normal for baby to 'relax' a bit? Can hot weather be as tiring for them as me? Would appreciate your thoughts on this.

I'd phone your MW or whoever you can speak to out of hours and discuss - don't wait around for any more replies on the web. HPs would rather you were over-cautious than not. If it were normal 'business' hours I'd say get along to your nearest day monitoring dept. When you've had some sound advice from a health professional have a look at the Count The Kicks website. Hope all ok for you. AV xx

Thank you so much for the link AV. Really put my mind at rest til I see MW today. Thankfully, I've had a lot of movement this morning! The website describes different kinds of movements which I recognised ie not just kicks but 'swooshes' which are far gentler but are still movements... Am so relieved I can't tell you! Thanks

My movements all changed, probably around then. Much more squirming rather than kicks. That's when you start to see the limbs too.. An elbow here, a foot there. Glad you are feeling better:)

Aw thanks. Thought this pregnancy would be just like the first. DD 1 kicked really hard all the way to birth so when it altered in this one I panicked a little. That website is so helpful. Wish I'd known about it before!

My movements changed at around 29 weeks too, Im now 31 weeks and don't really get kicks and punches, they are more like rolls and my midwife was pleased to hear it. As long as they are still regular I'm not going to worry about it xx
