36 weeks and struggling could these feelings be a sign something is about to happen?

I'm 36+1 with dc2 and I've really suddenly since last night felt awful. I'm really exhausted and just want to lie down all day, I feel sick, my hands feel swollen, have got terrible reflux and have a general feeling of not coping, including emotionally.

I felt like movement was reduced last night but have since been monitored. All fine, my bp and heart rate are fine and urine clear.

Just wondered if anyone else has suddenly become like this and it has been a sign labour is about to start? I can't shake off this feeling that it might happen soon. The baby is measuring large so I'm having a growth scan tomorrow.

I didn't feel like this at all before dc1 who I went into labour with on my due date.

Any experiences to share?

I've been feeling crap with this pregnancy for weeks now, am 39+3 and nothing is happening :( Been having false alarms for past few days but still baby is comfy where it is.

Like you I've been convinced this baby is on it's way, but so far nothing! I had DS at 39 weeks, and was positive this one would come at same time, but alas it hasn't!

Hope you have your LO soon :) Also hope I have mine soon too!!!

Hi Needles thanks for your reply.

Dammit it is just wishful thinking isn't it? I hate the thought of 4 or more weeks of feeling like this I could cry! I need to get a grip.

As long as the baby is happy though eh?

You really don't have long now though, hope yours comes soon too!

I didn't feel Ill as such but I can remember getting to 37 weeks and it hit me like a wall. Up until then i felt fantastic and had been swimming 30 lengths a day! All of a sudden, from nowhere, I just felt huge, Knackered and uncomfortable. I think it's pretty normal but have they checked your BP recently?

mcyawny · 20/08/2012 19:42

Hi Jakey, yes had my BP checked today and everything was normal. That's exactly how I feel, up until now I felt great and then... BAM! Feel like absolute crap!

Will have to keep going and remember it's not long now...

Yes not long now, did you say you have a big baby? Ds was 9 and a half pounds born a few days early, lugging all that weight around has got to take it's toll on the body at some point!

mcyawny · 21/08/2012 13:02

Had a growth scan this morning, baby measuring at between 39 and 41 weeks for femur length, head circ and abdomen circ, so I'm approx. 4 weeks ahead!

My trust as a policy don't estimate weight, they just use the measurements.

It does explain why I'm feeling so like the discomfort of right at the end though!
