19 weeks and gained a stone, 9st 4 to 10st 4 already, and that's after already gaining 6lb in the few months before pregnancy. My bump is so big and noticeable that men fling themselves out of their seats on the tube. Breasts have gone from a B to an E/F.

2nd pregnancy, going the way of the first. I've eaten a bit more but not been silly or inactive. I'm 5'9, tell me positive things!

I put on almost nothing during the first trimester, 8kg in the second (Dr was telling me to seriously cut down or I'd put on at least 20kg she reckoned) then...only 1.5kg in the third trimester! Total of 11kg.

So it's not a steady gain at all so no need to worry. I was told at my last appointment (when I was worrying that I'd barely put on any weight in the last 10 weeks) that they look at the overall weight gain, not by month/trimester.

As for losing weight, well I left hospital with a 3.1kg baby 4 days after giving birth and having lost only 4kg Hmm. I lost most of the rest in the next couple of weeks and am still waiting for the last 2kg to go 11 months later

My friend put on 15kg during her pregnancy and lost 11kg of it during the birth and the next few days! Shock and is also waiting for the last couple to go several months later

Maybe just dont weigh yourself when pregnant?
No good comes of it! Unless you need to know medically there is no point.

Though- i was curious with DC1. So got DH to do a secret weighing of me at 40wks and again after birth and then again at 2wks post birth. He wrote them down for me. When I was feeling less fat I looked- Was great to see what I put on etc in hindsight!

Of my 5 stone weight gain and huge bump (which everyone thought would be a 9lb+ baby boy) only 5lb of it was my tiny DD Blush Didn't weigh myself until she was 8 weeks old and I'd lost two stone. wouldn't worry too much directly afterwards though as I swear when my milk came in my boobs must have been four stone a piece!! Wish there was a way to weight boobs as it might make me feel better!! By the way...I have been told a couple of times recently that I'm 'blooming' - polite way of saying fat right?! Wink
