First time mum - bump ache at 27 weeks

I have been pretty - probably too - active in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy but according to MW all going well healthwise with baby and me. Am 27 weeks tomorrow and yesterday for the 1st time ever had a sudden really bad stitch/ache across lower bump and internally that felt like one of my internal organs were about to explode and I found it hard to walk for about half an hour. Since then pain eased off but whole lower half of bump feels sore and tender and this milder pain kept waking me up during the night. Is this just totally normal? And if so what causing it? And should I just spend a day on the sofa or are there exercises I can do to ease the pain? Thanks for any advice offered.

I had this in both pregnancies.

Was told by MW it was due to muscles and ligaments stretching and the womb pushing all my organs about. Sounds scary, but I suppose it makes sense as your baby grows and needs more space in your belly.

The stitch was a bit scary, I usually got them if I'd been on my feet too long, or walking any distance.

Don't know of any exercises to ease the pain, but taking short rest periods every so often helped. Have a sit down and a drink of water can help, as sometimes being dehydrated doesn't help and tires you out quicker.

Thanks for posting OP...I'm having exactly the same thing, and I'm 28 weeks today. Was going to ask MW on Friday.
