wine in a restaurant while pregnant?

I haven't drank any alcohol during my pregnancy but DH and I are going out for a special super-posh pre-baby meal next weekend and I'd love to enjoy an amazing glass of wine. I'm paranoid the waiting staff or even other customers might judge me for drinking whilst obviously pregnant (31 weeks). Has anyone had experience of this? I might just not bother drinking.

There is lots of evidence of varying alcohol intakes during pregnancy and the effects on the baby. Basically, 2-3 units a week has bugger all effect, except for one study, where it showed that 2-3 units a week may make the baby more intelligent. Enjoy your wine!

I had a few glasses of wine on holiday but I feel a bit funny about being judged at home. For instance, went to our local for a quick drink on Saturday. I really wanted a glass of wine but I had a J20 and then had a glass of wine at home so I didn't get judged. How ridiculous!

My NHS pregnancy book says something like "best to stay off altogether, especially before 12 weeks, but if you do drink, limit it to 1-2 units once or twice a week".

To me that advice says 1-2 units once or twice a week but we'd rather you didn't drink at all, as it's much easier for us to advise none

as long as you dont live ins some states in america where they wont serve alchohol to preg women you will be fine!

i have drunk when preg, half a lager etc and its been fine, apart from annoying relatives who will pointedly offer dp a drink whilst saying loudly that i am NOT allowed one, ermm actually i think thats my choice to make thanks very much!
