Please tell me this isn't pregnancy related too??? I'm 16+3 and have been hardly sleeping all week, really restless at night for no reason. And now I have a hideous headache that I've had for the past 24 hours and it feels as if my head is going to explode. I never suffer with headaches usually :(

It is but you should go see the Dr about the headache or the MW and see what they think.

Oh really? Why would you suggest that tramp? Could there be something wrong?

You should call your midwife. In the mean time, are you dehydrated? You need to drink more in hot weather when you are pregnant

Defo not dehydrated at all. I drink loads of water all day. Should I be concerned? What does this headache mean? I don't want to unecessarily bother my midwife but don't want to ignore if it could be something that needs checking out

I'd say go and get the headache checked.
I suffer from migraines. I got one when I was 22 weeks or so pregnant with dd - I do remember that I couldn't lie on my front as I normally do, because of the bump!
I called the maternity unit to say I had a migraine (I was in a lot of pain and it took me a while to get the sentence out but this is normal for me in the midst of one, but I knew exactly what it was) and that i couldn't keep anything down including pain killers and would the baby be ok?
They said to come in at once. I called DP who came home from work and took me in - turned out they wanted to be sure the headache wasn't a symptom of something else, like blood pressure issues. Once they had that established they gave me some strong painkillers (bliss!) and left me alone to sleep. They also kept me in overnight to rehydrate me (I was extremely dehydrated after all the throwing up) and also to double check the baby's heartrate etc after the painkillers.
All was fine, but I was glad I went in as they were able to give me the only stuff that worked!
(Plus I got a sneak preview of maternity, and it wasn't so scary when I went back for real! And they bought round biscuits and hot chocolate every evening!)

Your headache may mean nothing other than it's hot and muggy and you're tired and pregnant and hormonal. I knew for sure what mine was and they still wanted to get it checked. I'd play it safe and give someone a call.

i had a splitting headache for about 2 weeks when i was about 16 weeks - they checked blood pressure etc but midwife said it was just one of those pregnancy things. Especially if you're not sleeping well, that will be making it worse. Sorry i can't offer words of wisdom, only thing my midwife said was don't be scared to take paracetamol as they are proven to be safe.

Sorry didn't mean to scare you. I saw MW on Friday and mentioned I'd hd headaches that felt like I'd been hit on the back of the head with a shovel. It can be dehydration, exhaustion, stress.. But it can also be an indication of other issues so MW said if I have such headaches on a Reg basis again then I need to get checked just in case. But all was a ok blood pressure etc wise for me. Best to know though.
