Agonising pain in back?!

So i'm lying in a darkened room with a fan on me trying not to overheat. I tried to get up, then realised I've done something to my back on the lower right side. It's agony! Like lightening if i move into certain positions.Feels like a trapped nerve but it still hurts when I'm just lying down.

What is this new hell?! What can I do about it??

I've just had the same thing the last few days. I think it's sciatica, but not sure. It's absolute agony and means I can't carry DD around at all at the moment. I'm only 24 weeks so hope it doesn't last the whole time!

I feel your pain. I have been having at least one ice cold bath everyday recently.
Talk to your midwife and she can refer you to a physio. They'll give you exercises (stretches) and tips on things like how to sit and what not to do (eg cross your legs).
If it is sciatica (where you have pain in lower back, butt cheek and down the leg - one side usually) a good trick is to put a tennis ball on the floor and sit on it. Roll yourself around so the ball is massaging the side where it hurts.
And try putting a bag of frozen peas (wrapped in a tea towel) on the area for ten minutes at a time. This is numbing, and can also reduce any inflammation if there is any.
Hope you feel better soon!

I seems to have disappeared now! I wonder whether LO had just snuggled up in a weird position?
