Keep hearing about bounty packs, what are they and where do you get them from.
I'm 38 wks pregnant so maybe left it too late.
Thankyou

some other stuff they've done

lots more of the same out there

they also regularly mislead (sometimes outright lie) to new mothers that it is the only way to get their child benefit form

Hey - take it up with them!!! I'm just saying that using your private medical records for information without permission is, afaik, illegal. If they do that, action should be taken against them. I have no beef with them, but you clearly are aware of issues. You are free to act whichever way you deem appropriate.

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 18/08/2012 22:41

Chunky you are saying people can unsubscribe just like that
they very often cant even when it causes them great distress, and yes they "take it up with them"
you obviously haven't tried it yet - good luck to you if you ever do
But people should be aware of what kind of company they're signing up to. No harm in knowing BEFORE you decide

Chunkychicken · 18/08/2012 22:52

Like I said - you can act whichever way you deem appropriate. I'm not defending them. I just don't have any problem with them per se. You are free to say & do what you like, I'm not arguing. Just one step you can do is limit their access and unsubscribe. If that's failed, then yes, it will be more problematic & particularly distressing for some mothers. But please don't make ME out to be the enemy here. I don't give a monkeys whether you sign up with bounty or any of the many, many other marketing firms. It's your choice.

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 18/08/2012 22:57

Bounty is different to most other marketing sign up things though, in that you are targetted when you are at your weakest/most vulnerable/often still heavily medicated! In a place where you should be safe.

Its harder to say no when you are weak/still on loads of drugs. Someone who would never sign up to them say in a shopping centre when out for a browse on an afternoon mightened be quite as able to stand up for themselves after just giving birth, or with a baby in SCBU.

It is not a level playing field. Their very presence in a place where people who would normally say no to them feel less able to makes them wrong. And they make sure of this by comming when you are not allowed visitors to help you out and say "hey! she said no! go away!"

so compairing them to other marketing sign up things, like you might get on your door mat or in a shopping centre for example, isn't quite comparable!

Ok, ok, ok Lacking I get it. You don't like Bounty. That's your choice. I think you've made your opinion and reasons abundantly clear. Everyone is now aware of the issues and are free to make up their own minds. I didn't even care that much - was just saying I signed up upthread & will unsubscribe when I seem it to have served its purpose.PLEASE back off now and leave it be. I just don't like other posts arguing with my comments without acknowledging them/trying to clarify my thoughts. I appreciate that you have reason to dislike them, that is your experience, and its fair enough for you to want to share that knowledge BUT I am not Bounty. I can't do anything to change your experiences. I am sorry other mums have been distressed by Bounty but as I neither work for them or know anyone that does, they'll have to take it up directly with them - as unfortunate as that may be.
