Hi. 31 weeks PG (can't believe am that far already!) and my SIL gave me the Moses basket that she used for my nephew. Do I need to change the mattress and if so where do I get it from? Thanks

Ideally yes, you should get a new one. I got mine from mothercare.

It is recommended to change it yes. I just bought a crib mattress from amazon-company called ambassador. Seems pretty good for the price. Otherwise think mothercare etc sell them- should be a standard size.

Preciouslittleone.com has different sizes for £9

carrycot matress yes but you don't need a new pushchair altogether.

Car seats should be bought new if they are over 5 years old our if they have been in an accident as there could be hidden damage.

Oh we didn't at all and the Moses basket was used by SIL, her friend and her SIL, then me.

I suppose it's your personal preference. They're not in the basket for long, dd grew out of hers by 10 weeks and of course you have sheets on.

I also didn't change the pram one and brought the pram part to my iCandy second hand.

Its SIDS guidance to replace due to smoke, vomit and possible allergens getting trapped in the fibres and rotting IIRC

Personally I wouldn't take the risk for the sake of £20 but it is an individual thing.
