Just wanting this pregnancy over now i'm 30+1 weeks and i've totally had enough, was at QMC yesterday for over 3 hours, now been told cant have baby in lincoln has to be in nottingham and i'll be in for a least a week, i dont know anyone there no family or friends will be able to visit, and not sure if my dp will even be able to be there for the birth now as need someone to be here for 4 yr old DS who will be in primary school. Got workmen in and out my house for last to weeks doing my kitchen and now my house doesnt feel like a home, dont feel safe and secure in it anymore, i've had no respect from workers reguarding the fact i'm pregnant and using crutches to get about. just want it all to go away now and not to return.

Sorry for the rant just need to tey get it off my chest.

I don't think I understand your whole story, but they can't tell you where to give birth. They have a legal obligation to attend you wherever you choose to give birth.

However, they may have a good reason for advising why they think you should go to QMC (DS1 was born there! :)), and need to stay in for a week.

I hope the rest of today goes better.

baby is having problems with both kidneys and bladder, so would be best and safer for baby to be closer to all the necessary equipment and specialist doctors to help during and after birth, as baby may need to be in hospital for a few months if it goes to worse case situation, they say it would only be advisable that if i was too far in labour and couldn't travel to then have baby in Lincoln.

cbd - sorry to hear you're having a bad time...all I can say is that try and take some time out for yourself, and think of that day when you have the baby home with your family minus the workmen in your lovely new kitchen!
All the best xxx

Situation in short story,
Having problems with job centre who have stopped my money. they say i'm fit to work, i'm under investigation of crisis team who say i'm not fit for work due to my health problems, back, hips, mental health in more than one area, so having to appeal it. Pregnancy not good as baby is poorly and will need specialized care during and after birth. hardly see family for support as they all work, then came home to find i couldn't even get into my house as workmen had stuck my fridge freezer in the hallway, with no way of me been able to walk past while on crutches. me and my ds have seizures so emergancy services are at our house a few times and even they wouldn't have been able to get to us if we needed them through the night.

I'm sorry you are having such a tough time, but it is good that you are getting good medical care and that your birth will be in the best and safest place for both you and your baby.

With respect to the fridge freezer that can easily be moved, so tell your work men to move it. Emergency services would have moved it themselves had the need arisen, but they shouldn't have to. The workmen will sort it if you explain the problem.

Aw nuts, what is his kidney situation? DS had pyoestasis (spelling)? He was fine after birth, btw, but extra scans were stressful (until I became just plain bored of them).

cbd · 17/08/2012 18:24

the problem with both kidneys and bladder is not fully known until after the birth, but at the moment it looks like the kidneys are not functioning properly and the bladder is not completely releasing the urine.

Sorry to scare you hun, but i'm back now just trying to pack my hospital bag for a week stay might be a suitcase at this rate lol. Only 10 weeks left till due date, but baby is head down and the amount of pain i'm getting down below i'm guessing it won't be that long my ds was a week early.

I'm down to six weeks and packed now. It amazes me how big a bad is for just a day or so. Yours will be huge! Smile

cbd · 18/08/2012 20:59

tell me about it, so far i've packed 8 vests and 8 sleepsuits, 3 hats, 3 pairs of mits, 3 outfits for baby, 28 nappies, 10 bibs, 1 pack of wipes, toiletries for baby, blanket and towel. just wondering if i'll need more. not even thought about what clothes i'll need for me yet.

cbd · 18/08/2012 21:06

lol i know, chances are i'll be away from home so won't be able to get friends/ family to run extra bits up if needed. so trying to make sure i got enough to last me. Luckily my dad is hopefully gonna take me shopping for nursing bras, nursing tops and pj's/nighties for after labour.

Aww that's nice. I have just got massive primark snuggly pjs. Think I'll just wear maternity leggings and a tshirt home. No one will be looking at me anyway Smile

cbd · 18/08/2012 22:24

Well had Crisis Team out again today, they coming again on Wednesday nite to see how i'm doing. They have told me to print off a form for Disability Living Allowance and go see CAB to help me fill it in and try to claim for it as well as try to get my Employment and Support Allowance back. As I have been suffering from severe depression most of my life, I need to be cared for all/most of the day due to my blackouts/ seizures. They have also advised me to use the Sure Start Children's Centre more as well just to help me get out the house a bit.

Pickles77 · 20/08/2012 20:17
