Im due to have a scan next week (I'll be 33 weeks). Does anyone know if you have to have a full bladder like at 12 & 20 weeks? I hope not!

No.

Oops sorry, I mean no you don't need a full bladder.

Phew! I was getting worried that I might actually pee myself if I did!

I didn't at my 20 weeks, but for my 32 week scan they've told me that I do have to. Not sure why and baby will be huge then

I had a scan at 34 weeks. I had a wee just before, because I figured that they'd be able to see DS anyway.

And then I got told off for having an empty bladder. Had to drink a bottle of water and wait 15 minutes while they did a fetal heartbeat trace to fill in the time.

I had a scan at 35 weeks and wasn't told either way. Maybe go with a half full bladder and ask when you get there?

I'd just call the hospital and ask. It's different at every hospital.

I had a growth scan at 34 weeks and didn't have a full bladder at all. They only need it at earlier stages to help see the baby. The sonographer said to me that towards the end of your pregnancy your bladder is much smaller so it doesmt matter if it's full or not.

I have never been told to have a full bladder at a scan. I think it depends on the hospital policy and /or the equipment they are using.
