I can't remember if I have to see the gp first or to just book to see the midwife. I think I saw her for quite d lOng appt (about 40 mins) but can't remember when. I think now my area does the nuchal with the dating scan which last two times I paid for. I know this sounds daft but I don't want the dc to hear me ask at the surgery if I could ask here

I think it depends on local policy... Mine don't let you self refer to the midwives, but it was only a 10 minute GP appointment.

Oops pressed post too soon, I think I was about 10 weeks last time when I saw the midwife bug is that leaving it too late to get an scan in time

Ooh thank you, think I will book to see the gp and take it from there. I won't be long do at least if I'm on Xmd out it will give him chance to claw some 'overrun' clinic time back Grin

Again, can only speak for my area, but the GP filled in the scan request form at the same time as referring to midwife. I had my booking in at about 11 weeks or so, and my scan only about a week later.
