Boden maternity

Have never bought anything from boden before, but just had a quick look at their maternity stuff and really like the look of the tunics they sell. Anyone have any maternity stuff from there? Is it worth the money? Baby due early Feb, so thought that sort of thing would see.me through my entire pregnancy and the first few months post birth.

I have a lovely tunic and a short sleeved top from there that have lasted really well. I bought the pj bottoms which are really cosy too. Not so useful in this current hot and muggy weather though!

I tried to get some skinny jeans too but after sizing up two sizes and still not being able to get them on at only 15 weeks I gave up. Also the leggings are a weird shiny material so they went back too.

I bought a boden tunic dress on eBay and my mum bought me a boden top in the sale. These two items became the staple of my maternity wardrobe and got worn over and over again. They washed really well. My ds is only 7 weeks old but if I get pregnant again I will definitely buy a couple of more things from there.

I have the special day tunic, and the tight purple wrap dress - both are absolutely fab. I bought the purple wrap dress (with a pattern on it) in a size up, but bought the special day tunic in my normal size which was fine

Thanks blacktea and florin

That's exactly what I thought about the tunics, a great staple, as I don't want to buy too much and what I do buy I want to last. Thanks for the advice re jeans/leggings, I will avoid! I have a few non maternity leggings that have plenty of stretch so should last a while yet. Will also have a look to see what's on eBay!

Oh, forgot to ask, what's the sizing like on tops/tunics/dresses? Should I get my normal size or go up? This is my èrd pregnancy, yet I find every store varies do much with maternity clothes.

Opps, 3rd not èrd!

Oh I love the leggings - the black especially, not so much the navy. Mine definately aren't shiny. I'm 28 weeks and buying usual size is ok

blackteaplease · 15/08/2012 14:15

Apart from the jeans fiasco all of mine are in my normal size.

bumponboardagain · 15/08/2012 14:22

Thanks thebabywife I missed your previous post. I hate buying leggings, I have never found the perfect pair! Although at least with tunics you don't need to worry about the dreaded see-through in the pant region nightmare!

See through arse is a pet hate of mine - tunics are the perfect cure!

Leggings are great. I am rather miffed that they have not got new stuff in for A/W - I wanted a couple of the denim minis but they are either out of stock or on a 14 week wait - won't be needing them by then!

I had a Boden Maternity stretch jersey top. Bought it from an MNer and then sold it on eBay, but it did me the whole way through.

My best maternity leggings and trousers came from H&M.

I have the straightleg over bump jeans - they're the best ones I've had, comfortable and of a decent quality - I've tried and/or bought Next, Gap, H&M, New Look, JoJoMamanBebe and all were awful, IMO. The cross over tunic is nice, although I think it makes by boobs look enormous... Essential V Neck Tee is lovely, quite a thick fabric, so will do for colder months - I have it in peach, which I think is now out of stock. Everyday Tee is ok, but does kind of hang over my boobs in a slightly unflattering way! Their maternity clothes are pricey, but the quality is superior to any other maternity wear I have recycled from my last pregnancy - mostly from JoJoMamanBebe and Gap - Boden didn't do maternity clothes then.

Hello, I've got some of Boden's over the bump skinny jeans and I LOVE them. I have a real problem buying jeans as I am quite short but they fit perfectly. I tried other places like asos, jojomaman, seraphine, isabella oliver, topshop but the Boden ones are definitely the best
