Anyone else not having a 12 week scan?

Have had two dating scans and second was given that I was 9 weeks. They said that my next scan would be 21 weeks.

I normally tell people with the 12 week scan picture , feels a bit like I don't know how to do it now Blush

I've had dating scans with both and have been given my 12 week scan both times, in fact the POINT of dating scans is to book your 12 week scan in accurately so they can do the triple test

are you not choosing to have the triple test? the dating scan doesn't do any of that? and it can't be done at 21 weeks (then its the less reliable quad test instead I think?)

Triple is a DS etc test? Not having any of those. They do it at 16 weeks here.

at 16 weeks it would have to be a quad test, too late to test for downs with the more reliable triple test at 16 weeks, but if you're not having it it doesn't matter if you don't have a 12 week scan I guess

I know they only scan at 12 weeks here, it's held out of clinic times.

i was told the 12 week scan is the best chance of getting most accuarate date for you, i had dating at 8 weeks - at 12 weeks she moved me ahead a few days.

Both my scans so far seem to have dated approximately( as in +?)Got 6 weeks at the first and 9 weeks at the second.

Why have you had 2 dating scans? Seems funny they dated you 6 weeks at the first but then booked your next scan in for 9!

If you are not having the downs test though there would be no need for another scan at this point so i wouldn't worry.

HaitchJay · 15/08/2012 15:14

Thru said at 6 weeks it wasn't accurate and I already had the other appointment ( surprise pregnancy could have been anywhere between 6 and 12 weeks at initial scan).

NT scan wasn't mentioned so I assume they still don't offer it here.

How confusing for you.

I didn't have a 12 week. I was booked in for 13 weeks and then was told I was actually more like 14+3, (she said 14+5 at first) so they couldn't do the nuchal fold thing.

I had the quad test instead.
