I'm 6+2 wks and the last few hours have been spotting browny red blood. The last hour I've got a dull ache in my lower back.

Ive been googling and I'm petrified it's the beginning of a miscarriage :(

I guess I should go to the hospital tomorrow but I just wanted to see if anybody had had this happen and gone on to be ok?

I didn't have this with dc1...

I bled for about 3 weeks from about 7/8 weeks. Horrid brownish blood to start with. Had a couple of early scans which showed everything was ok. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant :)

Everyone is different, it doesn't necessarily mean the end of the pregnancy, but for some people it will be. Different hospitals will treat you differently at this point, some will scan you and some will tell you to take paracetamol and wait a week and go back for a scan.

FX for you, have been there and it is horrid, there is nothing you can do either way, just try and rest and relax and not think the worst.

Thanks both for your replies. Glad things were ok for you Friendofdorothy - that's encouraging.

Just had small amount of really dark brown blood today, and no back ache. But had lower abdominal aching which is like the pulling/stretching pains I was getting before, which I think/hope is more normal...

Hoping the fact there's been no more 'new bleeding' or back ache is a good sign, but who knows...

EPU said to get a referral from A&E or doc if bleeding or pain gets worse.

It's so hard not knowing isn't it? I just don't want to wait til the 12 wk scan to see no hb or something :(
