Had this for a while, told midwife, and finally got a referral to physio. I'm almost 32 weeks, and my letter from physio came. Appt for 5th Sept!! I'm due 11th Oct.

Is there anything else I can do?

They are quite sharp pains, sometimes twingey, and quite deep inside. At the beginning it was only where my hip bones are, but it's spreading and getting worse. I've just gone down to the kitchen twice and now in agony (3 storey house).

Is this SPD?

Sounds like it to me (also 32 weeks, also having this) My MW said it was too, also have physio session but no date yet but 'could take up to 4 weeks' so we're in the same boat.

No advice really I'm afraid as nothing I do seems to make it better - well the ONLY thing? Lots of rest. I did nothing at the weekend, hardly any walking and Mon was so much better. Today - back to waddling and grimacing in pain!

Sorry you're also struggling.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 14/08/2012 12:17

You sound just like me. Yesterday fine - I too, has lots of rest. Not done much today, but in agony. Just been in shower which has eased it a bit.

Really pissed off as wanted to have a little walk, but I've let DP take car, and would need buggy out of garage.

Don't you get fed up of resting? Feel guilty, even?

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 14/08/2012 13:23

Yeah I get this.

spice I was told up to 4 weeks too - my appointment will be 2 weeks to the day after my referral, though, so it's often not that long :)

Rest, and I find warm baths on an even help to ease the pain (and help me sleep better). I don't feel guilty for resting - if I don't, I aggravate it and I'm in agony!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 14/08/2012 13:23

*on an evening, not on an even!

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 14/08/2012 13:31

How far in are you, Fluffy?

I feel more guilty that it's school hols and I should be doing more with the girls, but it's just so hard.

I'm 32 weeks now oneofmyturns

I find that if I generally follow the advice of an early pregnancy physio I had it's a bit better if that helps. Sleeping with pillows between legs, so hips are aligned etc.

The problem is I often find the most comfortable sitting positions (whne I get home from work and flop on the sofa) make my SPD worse generally.

I'm so fed up with it too One and Fluffy. I think he worst part is not being able to walk far and if I do walk it has to be very slowly - I feel like people think I'm putting the pregnancy waddle on! :)

ALittleBitOfMagic · 15/08/2012 09:43

Are your pains in your back or front ? I'm 29wks been getting this worse and worse the past few weeks now it's so painful getting in and out of bed , the car , bending up and down . I feel it it the very bottom of my back going across both hips . It's like my bum boneBlush

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 15/08/2012 09:59

I know what you mean, Spice.

Most of my pains are at the front, but I do get twinges up the top of my legs at the back and in my bum.

Alittle sounds like SPD to me, I get lower back, pelvis and pubic bone pain but think slightly different for everyone. The stuff you said about bed, car and bending, feel exactly the same.

If I drop something on the floor now (and I do a lot, very clumsy at the moment) I nearly cry especially when dropping money in the street, small flat and almost impossible to get at but I'm not bloody leaving it!

TittyBojangles · 15/08/2012 15:51

There's a website which I think I found quite helpful, ds 21mo now tho so wad a while ago. Can't remember the address but search online for pelvic girdle pain.

FiveMonths · 15/08/2012 15:58

oh crikey - you poor things.

Fwiw I'm 19 weeks with my third, and yesterday I was sitting very sort of laid back on the sofa, as I was uncomfortable and getting a lot of BH type things.

When I tried to stand up I couldn't! It was like my legs had separated...I did stand but they felt like they had fallen off, and been stuck back on like a plasticine person, and weren't in the right place any more.

iykwim?
I suspect my pelvis has decided it wants to split in two. It was Ok after a few minutes but seriously, ouch!

sammyleh · 15/08/2012 16:24

Can I join in, I could have written each and every one of your posts :( an absolute bugger isn't it! I'm 30 weeks now and have had this for about a month and trying to find a comfortable spot on the sofa is almost impossible! My doctor recommended a bump support but I just figured that I'll grin and bear it. Not long to go and its all worth it! x

ALittleBitOfMagic · 15/08/2012 17:26

I love this thread its so good to be able to talk to people who know what you mean when you say you have a sore bum bone !!! BlushGrinGrin

Saw my mw today mentioned it to her so she has referred me to physio . She said it's quite common in subsequent pregnancies as the first pregnancy really weakens the abdominal wall .

She mentioned the bump support too I actually think that would really help me . Hope I don't wait too long for an appointment .

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 15/08/2012 17:29

Good luck everyone.

It really is good to talk to people with similar problems, I agree. Had a bad morning. Please remind me never to try shopping again before baby comes.

ALittleBitOfMagic · 15/08/2012 17:53

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 16/08/2012 15:48

Thanks Magic.

How are you all today?

Been to general obs clinic today, and it's a right bloody trek from the car park to antenatal unit. Was in agony when I arrived Sad
