That stripe you get

Just musing really, most of the pregnancy symptoms you get make sense, in that you can see why your body does what it does even if the side effects are 'interesting', so joints come loose so the baby can get out, boobs get big etc.

But, that stripe some people get going from pubic bone up tummy is caused by what? For what reason?

I was just wondering because I got a very definite stripe for dc1 (looked like I'd drawn it on with an eyeliner), but currently pregnant with dc2 and no stripe at all.

Mystery.

I honestly can't remember if it was darker with DD than with the DSs, sorry! Had completely different pregnancies in other respects, but that one I didn't notice. Smile

Sorry MrsDmitri I meant was your stripe while pregnant stronger than your monthly stripe? :)

Does it fade? I've noticed a little one - but its my freckles I'm worried about! Can't believe how the pigmentation on my face has changed, wonder if it will go back to normal....

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 14/08/2012 16:58

IIRC it wasn't stronger than at any other time, but it was definitely was as dark as it's ever got (does that make sense?)

Atm it's as pale as it ever gets - you wouldn't see it unless you were looking for it, but it's still there. It's actually a different texture to the rest of my hideously stretch-marked stomach too. Okay, I'm going to stop staring at my stomach now, it's starting to creep me out. My skin has been wrecked carrying my excessively large children! Grin

Lois I am pretty confident your face will go back to normal - mine did - though my stripe took a looong time. :)

MrsDimitri yes I see, that makes sense. Your skin did an ace job, hope you don't let it upset you. I have told my DH he is not allowed to find me less attractive once I am post-babies as that would be unfair Grin
