Hot water bottle, ok or not?

40+6 today (and feeling it). I've had no real signs of labour being imminent... but have developed an achey pain in my lower back/bottom this evening. Been going on for a couple of hours.

Does anyone know if I'm ok to use a hot water bottle for this?

I can't see any reason why not. Maybe a bath would help too.

Thanks, may try a bath if this doesn't calm it... trying desperately hard not to see this as 'a sign'.

Achy lower back is how my friend's labour started...

I think you'll be fine to use a hottie.

My Dr recommended a hot water bottle on my lower back- just using the obvious precautions of not putting it directly on your skin!

:) hope you feel better

We were told a hot water bottle was ideal for early labour pains at ante-natal class last week.
