It's all couple. And I'm all alone :( feel ridiculously stupid. They're all staring at me. I didn't want to come any way :(

Thanks for reassuring me one next week then that's it. I do have a birthing partner but i chose to go alone (bit of a loner)

Don't worry, I'm sure they just want to make friends :)

Plus - I think its amazing you're doing all this without a DP (sounds like you have great family support) so good on yer!!! It'll be fine :)

Probably a bit late as there is only one more session, but a friend found that daytime classes were less couple orientated so the "mums" mixed more.

I went to these classes either on my own or with my female friend as DH was working. Didn't wear my wedding ring as my hands were swollen. God knows what people were thinking of me if they were trying to compartmentalise like that!

I seriously doubt anyone would give it a second thought, you feel naked, bare and obvious, but to anyone else you're just another Mum to be whose personal circumstances are entirely unknown.

Try to relax - everyone there is probably quite nervous and that would account for any 'face expressions' you are noticing. :)

I had my first ante-natal class last week. I took my MIL as I felt awkward about going alone but actually I would have been fine on my own. There was a lady on her own in my group and no-one stared at her and no-one stuck their beak in and asked whether she was a single mum or whether she had a partner who couldn't be there.

Hope you felt better as it went on, I'm sure people weren't staring.
