Bright yellow wee

Have noticed this before even finding out I was pregnant, especially in the mornings. Thought it was odd as I drink loads of water!

Have read that this is normal, and also that it is a sign of a boy (old wives tale).

So I'm wondering, have any of you Mums had this and gone on to have girls?

My prenatal vitamins make my pee more yellow. Doesn't explain why you noticed it pre-pregnancy though.

I didn't have it pre pregnancy - it was just before I found out!

I have a girl and expecting another, but I am 100% certain that bright yellow wee comes from taking vitamin supplements. The pregnancy ones in particular, but also any old ones.

Hi Lucky The old wives tale is most likely a load of rubbish, I'm due a girl (or so the sonographer tells me) and the colour of my pee is verging on radioactive. Not sure what it is that's making my wee yellow but I feel fine and healthy with only 10 weeks to go! If she comes out with a winky though, I'll put a bit more faith in old wives and their tales :)

Thanks ladies. I did have neon wee before taking pregnacare vitamins, have just spoke to someone who said its the extra protein. Need to get my head around the science of this pregnancy lark!

My wee was more of a chartreuse colour, and I was told it was Vitamin B that did it!
