So worried please reassure me

Sorry I have started another thread about this today.

I've today found out that I have been taking antibiotics for no reason for the past 5 days. Was taking Cefalexin for suspected uti as there were traces of blood and protein in urine. However the urine test results (I presume the culture for bacteria?) have come back today and there is no sign of infection.

I feel so guilty that I have been putting a drug into my system that I didn't need and have scared myself by reading things on the Internet about antibiotics being a cause for developmental problems, allergies, autism etc (I know, I know I shouldn't google.)

Obviously the Dr has told me they're fine but I feel so so guilty :-(

You have nothing to be guilty about.

If you hadn't have taken the antibiotics and had have had a UTI not treating it would have been much more dangerous.

Calm down - worrying won't do the baby any good!

Don't worry, I posted in your other thread, I was also on Antibiotics for UTI (apparently unecessarily) but then I got a chest infection too and MW told me there aren't any other options/cures than antibiotics for that, so it's fine I'm sure now worries a bit

And sorry for starting 2 threads about this had a slight panic when writing this one!

I'm gobsmacked there was no uti to be honest. I was soooo achey, felt almost flu-ey, was constantly weeing (although that's normal in pregnancy I suppose!) and the dip thingy showed blood and protein in urine. And then a couple of times I went I actually saw the blood in my wee!

So the test results that came back have shown that there is blood in urine but no infection. All very strange.

I just feel so bad for exposing the poor little baby to unnecessary drugs
