Right sided rib pain from 20 weeks

This is my 4th pregnancy & since 20 weeks I get this right sided rib pain. It's more like an ache & feels just like when baby's bum pushes against it, but clearly it's far too early for it to be baby.
It's not severe, just feels bruised & achy. Worse when I sit. Anyone else had this? Could it just be because it's no4? I forgot to tell my mw at my last appointment, but it has been bugging me a little.

I've got this, I've had it since 20 ish weeks and I'm now 30 +5.

It comes and goes when I asked the midwife and consultant about it (as it was taking my breath away and I was in hospital anyway for other unrelated pregnancy problems)

They said it was baby's head pushing up agenst my rib and just under it and as the head was more solid than a bum or foot it was more painful, and just one of the many joys of pregnancy I would have to learn to live with Hmm

Yes, but, at 20 weeks baby's nowhere near ribs though. That's what puzzling me.Confused
It's not there when sitting either.

Could it be something to do with the fact it's your 4th pregnancy? Maybe there is a muscle weakness or tenderness there from your previous babies?

Not sure if I'm talking cobblers, but I've had 2 pregnancies and found the rib pain worse 2nd time round, even at a similar stage as you.

I had this when pg with DD but from about 25 weeks, and have it again this time (DC2). I'm 24 weeks but have had it since about 19/20 weeks. It's as though there is a lot of pressure there and lying down or at least stretching my torso up help relieve the pressure.
Last time my DD was transverse at first (as normal) and then head down so it was definitely never her head pressing against my ribs. This baby is still transverse so it's not the head this time either.

I never found out what it was. I am quite short and have a huge bump this time so maybe that could be why?
