Mamas and Papas - does anyone know when the next sale is on?

Have decided to buy PFB's nursery furniture from mamas and papas. They seem to have had a 3 for 2 sale on during the entire 25 weeks of my pregnancy to date.

However, now I feel it's safe enough to order, it's bollocking finished !

Does anyone know if they routinely have sales and it will come in again? Is it a bit like DFS from which no one in the world seems to have ever bought a full price sofa? Or have I missed the boat?

So cross as do want to try and order in the next 5 weeks or so in case there are any probs etc.

I asked in the shop but they looked suitably vague and tried to interest me in other furniture that I don't like but was on sale (not 3for 2though)

I'd like to know this too!

Have you got your heart set on a particular design? If you haven't I would consider going elsewhere. We got Mamas and Papas furniture for our PFB and have found it to be poor quality and overpriced. We've had to repair it several times and wish that we had just got a similar but much cheaper set. It's definitely not worth the £££s.

I ordered mine the day before the sale ended, and tbh, I wish I had waited. I got an email confirmation of the order, they debited my account for the full amount immediately. The email said delivery within 14 days for large items/furniture. That was 3 weeks ago. I rang yesterday to find out where my stuff was, was in a queue for 20 minutes and was told that my stuff will be here in the next 8 weeks. I mentioned the length of time taken for them to answer the phone, apparently lines are very busy due to the sale. Perhaps if they kept their customers updated, there wouldn't be so many people calling? An automated email with an apology for delay and expected delivery date would have saved them having to speak to me and probably lots of other people.

Can't say for certain when the next sale will be but they do seem to have one every few weeks - literally - so if you can wait I would :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 10/08/2012 10:23

I'd think they wouldn't have a sale in August, as they've just distributed the vouchers earned during the last sale for use in August iyswim - I wouldn't expect a sale til those are no longer valid. But it does seem very frequent - I was gutted not to get a pram in their sale and then it was back on sale a month later!

You could try asking on their facebook page if they're repeating their 3for2, as they're quite helpful there I found?

Fwiw I found their service exceptional. I ordered my pram in June for delivery in August (they sold like hot cakes during the sale) and it was delivered several weeks early.

Thanks for all the posts - really appreciate it.

I called Mamas & Papas today and the said no more sales til Christmas Sad. PFB is due on 24 November so that won't work.

What is most annoying is that I trotted of to M&Ps in the Trafford Centre twice in the last 4 weeks to check and was told the sale was on with that stuff in it until end of August so thought safe to wait.

So pissed off

Can you complain that you were assured the sale was on til end of august and see if they'll honour the 3for2?

I was browsing and chatting with a lovely assistant the other day, mentioned SIL had given me some bedding but i couldn't see it online or in store. Dn's are 7 and 5 but she recognised my description of one type and uttered the magic words...

Outlet Store

:o

Worth a try?

FatimaLovesBread · 11/08/2012 10:52

If you live near the Traffird Centre could you make it to Huddersfield? They have a factory outlet there and often have furniture in. I went yesterday and the were plenty of cots and quite a few wardrobes and drawers.

I suppose it depends on what furniture set it is you want

Jo178 · 11/08/2012 10:56

If you're near the Trafford Centre you could also try Housing Units near Oldham I think? We got our M&P nursery furniture there because the wait for delivery was ridiculous. We ordered and took ours away the same day!
