Feeling worried after finding out our bub is at high risk with 4mm Nuchal measurement. We are waiting for our bloods to come back before we decide whether to go ahead with further tests.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm trying to be positive but it's so hard.

hello if you look back quite a lot of threads on this fairly recently - people have had much higher nuchal measurement but with bloods ok and all has been ok - but some times it has been neg result. It doesnt neccasasirly mean it will though.
Im sure others have said - that 4mm isnt that high.
hopefully someone will come soon with more knowledge.

Hi Rosduk, so sorry you are going through this worry. I have been through this recently, very similar situation to yours, and I know how stressful it all is. Personally, I went for the CVS as soon as we got the Nuchal result because the uncertainty and waiting is so stressful and I felt I needed to know one way or the other asap rather than get another risk analysis.
Something to bear in mind that helped me, an increased Nuchal is not a sign that there is definitely a problem, and plenty of people have your result and go on to birth healthy babies. In my case, even with more fluid around the baby's body as well as the same Nuchal as you, the extra fluid (including increased Nuchal) all magically dissapeared within a week. I can't say what will happen in your case, but MN is here for you whatever happens. Feel free to ask any questions. I had the all clear from the inital results of the CVS, waiting for the detailed results, hoping all will be fine as we had such a good scan recently.

I had a higher nuchal fold. And combined with bloods risk was 1:153 for downs. I decided not to have further tests as I would have baby regardless. I worried a lot until the 20 week scan, everything looked fine then and although problems can't be ruled out I have stopped worrying. I am due any day, although the thought that there may be problems creeps into my head from time to time it's not causing me to lose sleep. When I first got my nucahl fold and bloods back I looked into it a lot (on the antenatal tests page) and tonnes of people had got a similar measurement to yourself or higher with no further problems. Obviously you can't know for sure without the tests but I woudl tryt o remain positive. good luck xxx
