my sister has been trying for a baby for just over a year and started fertility treatment to get her to ov. she released 4 eggs and they told her she was unlikely to become pg. however she is pg and the scan today showed one baby with a heartbeat but the sac was the wrong shape. the doctors don't hold out much hope and kept asking whether she has been bleeding which she hasn't. she will be scanned again next week to see whether the baby is growing.

i had a missed mc last year and the baby stopped growing at 5-6 weeks and the sac was the wrong shape but there was no heartbeat. i think the heartbeat is a really positive sign and i really want this to be true. has anybody got a positive story of a successful pregnancy when the sac has been found to be the wrong shape?

also forgot to say she has a heart shapped womb, could this cause the amniotic sac to be the wrong shape?

i really hope there is at least one person out there with a positive story for her. she is approximately 7 weeks but the doctor didn't tell her during the scan. i keep telling her that this could be happening to so many women out there but most women don't get a scan until 12 weeks when it might have corrected itself. only those women who are experiencing fertility problems or are at risk of mc get a scan so the results might not look good at the moment but it could correct itself but this could be giving her false hope and i feel guilty if i am but i want her to stay positive. please if anyone can tell me their experiences i would be so grateful.

she has got a 4 year old boy already and is very grateful for that. he was concieved when she wasn't even trying and it was only recently when she went in for fertility tests that they told her she has a heart shapped womb. it's just so sad for her as it was so easy the first time around.

i am currently 11+6 weeks pg, it's really hard as we were going to be having our babies so close together and i know how hard this will be for her if this baby doesn't survive for her and especially having to see me carry on with my pregnancy :(:(:(

this is so sad i just wish there was some positive news now for her for this baby, so far i can't find anything on the internet that is positive.

have no experience of this myself but will say that ive heard success stories regarding bicornate uterus, i can only guess that the sac is a slightly diff shape because of the shape of the womb.
keeping my fingers crossed for her.

if its any consolation, i was told i didnt have a viable pregnancy and that it was probably molar, my molar pregnancy is now an active 19 month old!

oh good, i really hope she gets some good news on thursday. it's so hard waiting though.

hi just come on quickly to say my sister had a scan today and all went very well for her. the sac's back to being normal shape and they've dated it and told her everything seems fine. such a relief :o:o:o
